Efficient Hydrostatic Kyowa Test Pump

The Kyowa test pump is a hydrostatic pump that is employed to test the pressure in water systems such as plumbing lines, pressure vessels, sprinkler systems and water meters. The test is conducted to check for any possible leakage of a pipe network. The test pump is a portable device commonly used to test small to medium-sized water systems.

Hydrostatic testing is regarded as the most common way of testing pipes, pressure vessels and other kinds of water systems. The test is an important measure in ensuring that the water system is reliable for use. It helps to maintain the safety of the system’s function as well as the durability of the vessel and pipe.

How does a Kyowa test pump work?

Before a water system can be tested for its usability, the vessel or pipe system is first filled with a liquid, typically water. The liquid can be dyed to aid the testers in detecting any leakage of water during the test. On other occasions where the system’s contamination with water is not desirable, the test will use hydraulic fluid or oil instead. After the test component is filled with the liquid, the liquid in the vessel is pressurised to the specified test pressure.

The Kyowa test pump can test the pressure of a component at 50, 300, 500 and 1000kg/cm2. The output pressure can be adjusted by turning a knob and adjusting the pressure by looking at the attached gauge. The pump is also light-weight, making it easy to carry around.

It is important for water systems to be tested before they are made operationally-ready. This prevents any possible leakage of liquid that not only causes damage to the pipe or vessel but also affects the people who depend on these systems for, in particular, the regular supply of water.
